ALAN Friends:
This week as we’ve been getting ready for ALANtine’s Day, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about love songs.
If you’re like me, you probably have a favorite one. Maybe it’s an old song that perfectly summarizes your feelings for your significant other – the song that you know by heart and that makes your “most listened to” list year after year. Or perhaps it’s a relatively new song that you can’t stop singing.
Here at ALAN, we have a few songs that are special for us, too. Songs that remind us why we do the work we do – and songs that describe how we feel about you, our wonderful partners and donors. Songs for longtime friends that we work with frequently, songs for those we only see on occasion, and songs for new friends that we hope will turn into forever friends.
Time permitting, we’d love to make you a mix tape of all of them. But to keep things simple, we’ve decided to share our slightly reworded version of just one. We hope you’ll enjoy singing it as much as we enjoyed putting it together – and that you know that it goes hand in hand with our heartfelt appreciation for the love and support you give to ALAN each year.
