When the Arkansas Food Bank received $2 million worth of donated perishable food in 2020, there was only one problem: Finding enough frozen transportation space to store and distribute it.  Enter ALAN, which found a donor willing to supply two freezer tractor trailers throughout the spring and summer.

Fourteen pallets of donated yogurt were in danger of going to waste until ALAN found an in-kind donor to provide the free refrigerated transportation required to  successfully ship them to two food banks in New Jersey.

After Filling In The Blanks experienced a sudden 30% increase in demand in early 2020, ALAN helped the non-profit kids food bank procure a donated pallet jack to help handle the surge — and provide its millionth free meal a year sooner than planned.

Sometimes the cases that ALAN helps with are simply about helping nonprofits like Good Samaritan of Garland, Texas, do a better job of working with what they have. It’s able to more efficiently serve 748,000 meals per year, thanks to “Bertha,” the donated pallet jack that we helped it procure in 2021.
