If you read ALAN Executive Director Kathy Fulton’s latest blog, then you know that the ALAN team is back attending in person conferences. In fact, recently we had the privilege of attending one of the supply chain industry’s largest events of the year – MHI’s annual MODEX conference.

It was an action-packed four days, and not just because we experienced great fun in making new connections and reconnecting with long-time colleagues. ALAN found itself front and center chairing not one but two panels alongside some of the industry’s most impressive thought leaders.

On Monday March 28th Kathy Fulton took the stage alongside Rick Blasgen and David Shillingford to discuss how COVID-19 has reshaped supply chains, and what the pandemic’s lingering effects mean for the supply chain’s future. The next day, Kathy and David were joined by University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Dr. Alan Amling to address how the ongoing war in Ukraine has disrupted global supply chains. Audiences engaged with panelists to better understand how businesses and individuals alike can respond to the war’s unintended consequences (did you know Ukraine is the breadbasket of Europe?) as well as remain vigilant against increasing vulnerability to cyber security threats.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We don’t want to spoil all the fascinating details, but now that we’ve piqued your interest, you’re in luck! Recordings of both panels are made free and accessible, thanks to MHI’s generosity and commitment to the sharing of such important conversations. Simply click either of the recordings below to listen.

Here at ALAN, we know disasters are inevitable. While we can’t avoid them, we can engage in best practices and take measures to better prepare ourselves for the time when disasters strike. ALAN is honored to receive the support needed to facilitate these preparedness dialogues and we hope your takeaways from the recordings will leave you and your company feeling more informed.

Hear something intriguing but feel like you need additional information? Feel free to contact us for further discussion. And a big thank you again to MHI for hosting ALAN at MODEX and making these recordings available.

Note:  If you’re a carrier who wants ALAN to connect you with FEMA for work or new business opportunities, we’re sorry to say that you’re not in the right place.  While we at ALAN would like to be of help, we’re solely a non-profit who serves other non-profits, and we’re not able to assist with any other requests at this time.  Our best advice is to recommend that you contact FEMA directly using the links below as a starting point.   We hope you’ll find them helpful, and we wish you every success.
