Executive Director's Message

We are leaning forward with preparations for Hurricane Florence and the many other named storms that are threatening other U.S. states and interests.  A few quick but important storm-related reminders:

  • For weather alerts, preparedness tools, and disaster-related information, we encourage you to go to National Hurricane Center, National Weather Service, the Typhoon Prediction Center or to download the FEMA Mobile App.  Please be safe and make appropriate preparations if you or your employees are located in or near the path of the storm.
  • For key details about road closures, evacuation routes, port closures, and other supply chain impacts, visit the hurricane page on this website often.  We’ll be loading important details often, including links to the websites and mobile apps listed above, as well as details about any requests for assistance we receive, so check back frequently.
  • To learn more about how you can help ALAN and the non-profits we serve with hurricane relief efforts, give us a call.  You can also connect with us via Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, where we’ll be posting updated needs frequently.

On a final note, thank you to all those who have already offered support or shared information with us.  All of these offers are hugely appreciated – and have the potential to make a huge difference as we work to save lives through logistics.  Should you need additional information or have a specific request, don’t hesitate to reach out. Meanwhile, may you and your loved ones stay safe and be safe in the days ahead.

Kathy Fulton
Executive Director

Note:  If you’re a carrier who wants ALAN to connect you with FEMA for work or new business opportunities, we’re sorry to say that you’re not in the right place.  While we at ALAN would like to be of help, we’re solely a non-profit who serves other non-profits, and we’re not able to assist with any other requests at this time.  Our best advice is to recommend that you contact FEMA directly using the links below as a starting point.   We hope you’ll find them helpful, and we wish you every success.
